Name: | "Kasumi" Yoshizawa [P4 Akechi AU] |
---|---|
Birthdate: | Mar 25 |
"Kasumi" Yoshizawa from Foggy Nights and Phantom Flights (AKA the Persona 4 Akechi AU).
• Her story follows canon up until Maruki actualizes her.
• After her first appointment with Maruki, she feels so happy that she decides to keep seeing him. During one of their counseling sessions, she notices that he's looking very tired and upset and tries to inquire as to what's wrong. He tries to brush it aside, as it's his job to be there for her, but she feels that it's only fair and is adamant that he deserves a chance to vent his feelings too. This leads to her getting Maruki's contact outside of a professional capacity, even if it's very reluctantly on Maruki's part.
• Sumi eventually learns that Maruki is under pressure from extremely powerful politicians such as Masayoshi Shido, who funded his research but are using him for cruel and corrupt purposes. His counseling is his one little slice of good will that is fully his, but otherwise he is alone. Sumi begs him to let her assist him, so he doesn't have to be alone in his suffering. Maruki is once again reluctant, but Yaldabaoth coaxes him into letting her aid him, as having an ally untethered to Shido's conspiracy may one day allow him to break his own chains and truly give the world its "salvation."
• Maruki takes Sumi into Mementos, where he has no choice but to lead her into combat to provoke her spirit of rebellion. Fortunately, this works, and Sumi awakens to Cendrillon. However, because it was such a stressful experience, Maruki uses his actualization to bestow on Sumi a special bone. When active, Shadows become docile in her presence and can even be swayed to fight on her behalf, not unlike a fairytale princess. She "cannot" be hurt by them, because she believes so strongly that she will not be hurt.
• In the brief time before Akechi arrives in Tokyo and the school year starts, she begins testing Wakaba's theories about changes of heart to aid Maruki's research by tackling small scale Mementos targets.
• Is on friendly terms with Akechi, though that friendly relationship gets strained once he learns from Futaba that "Kasumi" has been brainwashed and is actually Sumire. She is very proactive in helping reach out to people like Ann and Shiho during Kamoshida's reign and though she spies on the Thieves, she also believes in their mission to change the hearts of corrupted adults.
• When she sees Akechi with Morgana one day, she responds to his comment about not being a cat, which clues Akechi in that she is a Metaverse user. Additionally, she is the one who brought Yosuke into Madarame's Palace, completely on accident, and ends up having to drop him off by a safe room for the Thieves to aid him before awkwardly backflipping away. She is the one who has the "black mask" moniker despite not working directly for Shido, and is seen as a shady Metaverse figure who acts in the Shadows.
• Is afraid of what will happen if Akechi learns of Maruki's involvement in the "cognitive anomalies," especially in the aftermath of Wakaba's Palace.
• Has a strained relationship with Futaba, who knows the truth of her identity and wants the real Sumire back. "Kasumi" doesn't understand why Futaba can't accept Sumire's death and feels sorry for her, but due to her actualized Persona, her feelings are at odds with what Sumire felt before.
• Her "normal" Metaverse outfit is like a cool lady spy. Think Black Widow, for instance.
